Bucket hydrotherapy shower

Rather than a shower as such, in the thermal shock or contrast bucket shower a large amount of cold water is poured onto users in a very short period of time. The container or bucket (usually made of wood or stainless steel) is filled with water, at room temperature, and when users pull the stainless steel handle or the rope, the water is poured onto them, slowly or all at once, as they choose.

This kind of "contrast shower" is designed to produce an instant thermal contrast after users have left a sauna, hammam or other very hot atmosphere. The sudden change in temperature is very strong, so the cold water should only hit users' body (chest and back) and not their head directly.
